ITS THE ONE! - Bioderma Sensibo

My skincare dream came true! I have always wanted to try the highly raved Bioderma micellar water range but because of my constant impulsive buys of Korean skincare brands, I haven't gotten anything off the shelves from our local markets for close to 2 years. Therefore a really huge thank you to Samplestore for sending them my way!

With micellar water taking by storms in the skincare market these days, many brands have been coming up with their very own micellar water products. So what exactly is micellar water? Micellar water is a skincare product that removes makeup and cleanses the skin, without the need for rinsing.The idea is that micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin.Therefore, micellar water can be used as a facial wash, makeup remover and moisturizer all in one. (Source: Google)

Before I was exposed to the micellar water technology, my favourite make up removers were the deep cleansing oil by a renowned brand or a make up cleansing cream by a Korean brand. Both the oil and cream based products were extremely good with removing my make up thoroughly without tugging onto the skin due to the nature of the texture. However, it made my skin oilier than it already was. Also with Singapore's unforgiving humid weather, my combination skin was often on the oilier side which was frustrating. With the invention of the micellar water technology, it is safe to say that this is the perfect one for individuals of different skin types and a hero product especially for those living in tropical countries.

BIODERMA SENSIBIO H20
When it comes to micellar water, Bioderma Sensibio H20 takes the cake. It is the non-rinse cleansing water using the Micelle Technology that removes make up brilliantly (without water!) and leaves the skin refreshed and cooling. It is no wonder why this hero product has since been a backstage secret on fashion runways, the absolute favourite cleansing product of the make up artists, models and celebrities. But of course, it isn't always about the  convenience for the famous celebrities, what about the consumers who contributes to the bigger portion of the market? This is also very much catered to the consumers, the massive female population - regardless if you are always tight on schedule, on the go, ladies who battles with fatigue yet struggling with removing make up after a late night out or simply just ladies who are too lazy to spend another minute in the bathroom trying to wipe the last speck of eyeliner off your face - this product is for you.

ONE SOLD EVERY 3 SECONDS! The numbers speak for themselves.Why is this little pink bottle so well-loved? In just one step, Bioderma Sensibio H20 provides superior makeup removal and gentle cleansing, thanks to its unique restorative properties, skin is always left feeling soft and comfortable. Soap, alcohol and fragrance-free, this non-rinse cleanser refreshes, soothes and preps the skin for subsequent skincare. I can absolutely vouch for that. I have used different brands of micellar water and I must admit that the functions of the micellar water of different brands work the same however the stark difference between Bioderma and the other brands is that it delivers what is promised - gentle to the skin and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and cooling. It not only removes make up residue, it also removes environmental pollutants off my skin.

BIODERMA SENSIBIO GEL MOUSSANT (NEW!)
 The Bioderma Sensibio Gel Moussant is a gentle foaming gel with lipid-restoring properties that hydrates and calms sensitive skin.

And because Bioderma realized the needs for a gentle cleanser after the first step of removing the make up, we now have BIODERMA SENSIBO GEL MOUSSANT! I do double cleansing in my skincare routine everyday and people have been telling me the importance of having a cleanser that should be gentle enough to the skin so it does not strip off more moisture that it should on your face. I'm guilty for not paying too much attention on the different facial foams I use from time to time and Bioderma's new Sensibo Gel Moussant is a really different cleanser from the usual ones I used. As it is gel based, it glides on the face effortlessly and cleans the face really well. The only thing I might not like is the scent of this product. This is a personal opinion and I'm sure there are people who'd appreciate this for the benefits of a gel cleanser.

BIODERMA SENSIBIO DERMATOLOGICAL WATER (NEW!)
Bioderma Sensibio Dermatological Water is a face and body soothing spray made of highly purified water enhanced with an ideal balance of minerals that calms skin while maintaining healthy skin cells.

This has got to be my favourite newly launched product - I call it the mist spray! This is extremely refreshing to the skin and ideally handy when you need a freshen up during mid day. Would be great if it comes in a smaller bottle but for now, I absolutely enjoy spraying it right after toner. Which facial cleanser is approved by dermatologists, adopted by makeup artists, adored by millions of women around the world, and touted as the beauty staple you can’t live without? Bioderma.

Restoring Beauty with Avalon Stem Cell

Instead of going into details of what the ingredients are inside this little bottle of goodness first (which nobody would read unless interested), I'd share what most people would be interested in - the BENEFITS.

If you are asked to pay $69.90 for a box of 10 beauty drinks, the price definitely isn't going to be one of the factor that people would grab it off shelf without a thought (on their pockets). You know its a bang for your buck when you are paying to restore youth.

PRODUCT BENEFITS • Rejuvenates damaged skin cells • Reduces wrinkles & fine lines • Restore skin firmness & elasticity • Brightens skin • Tighten pores • Locks in moisture

I'm not going to say that oh! After 10 bottles of Avalon stem cell drink, all the benefits are now showing on my skin! It is not going to happen, truth. We all know that keeping up with a beauty regime is a long term investment and some consumers buy them over a course and complain they do not work. I as a consumer would be skeptical myself so here's sharing with you how I felt, after a 10 days course of beauty drink.

After shifting in to stay with the husband, I'm now sleeping right above the aircon which is terrible for my wellbeing. I am still keeping up with my usual skincare routine which is no longer working out when the aircon is taking away more moisture than what I can prepare my skin for. I wake up everyday to extremely dry throat, lips and skin. After starting on Avalon stem cell beauty drink, I do see 3 visible improvements on my skin - Brighter skin, smaller pores and I wake up to a supple skin  that I used to get when I apply my laneige sleeping pack (which I ran out of). What I also absolutely love is the sparkling lychee flavour (I made this up myself), it tastes extremely refreshing when chilled so put them all in your fridge!

$69.90 for a week of consumption, which cost half of what a facial usually costs is definitely worth the dollars. You'd be getting more out of it in a long run than what a short 60 minutes of facial can help you with. If girls are willing to spend heaps on facial packages, this is something worth the thought to add on to your beauty regime.

More ground information:

And unlike most beauty drink in the market that has a thick texture and strong flavour, AVALON ™ Stem Cell Beauty Drink is made with Sparkling Water that not only adds a refreshing twist to conventional beauty but in fact sparkling water actually helps to boost nutrients absorption & promotes skin metabolism!

#mykoreadiary || Sky Park (하늘공원)

Photo diary: Sky Park 하늘공원 (World cup stadium station)
Website: (Korean) http://worldcuppark.seoul.go.kr/parkinfo/parkinfo3_1.html
Taken with: Samsung S6 (non-edited)

I'm really amazed with the husband's Samsung S6 camera. It actually takes decent pictures. So some long time back we went to my favorite place in Seoul, Sky park! I think throughout the stay in Korea, I went there at least 3 times. I'm honestly not too sure about the other seasons but if you happen to be there during Fall (October), this is the place to be.

I know many people think that the ideal place to go is either the Han river or Yeouido park. I've been to only Yeouido park once for the International fireworks festival (read - here!) Honestly, it wasn't as fancy as how everybody would tell you it is. But for sure go to Yeouido park during Spring for the cherry blossom season, otherwise it's just a park. I've never been to Han park/river before. For some reasons, it never interest me. Also maybe I took it for granted that I occasionally see it while I'm on the subway so it wasn't in the list to visit. So if you have time constraints, you can go to Sky park which overlooks the Han river anyway. It boosts a panoramic view of the Han river and it'll be perfect if you are there during sunset.

I think the main idea of travelling to countries with seasons is that you choose the places to go in the right seasons. If you happen to be travelling to Korea during winter, Sky park would look like this (photo source), which would be not worth a trip up there.

P.S/ You gotta climb a really, really long flight of 291 steps up for the majestic view. Else, join the snake queue that provides a shuttle bus up.

#mykoreadiary || Autumn In Changdeokgung

Photo diary: Changdeokgung & Huwon
사진 일기: 창덕궁과 후원

Google would take you to a list of palaces to visit in Seoul but I'd tell you that it is wiser to just pick your favourite instead of spending the entire day looking at the same structures. I'd been to Gyeongbokgung (read here!) numerous times and it is definitely worth the tourist hype but I was getting bored so I decided to take the sisters to Changdeokgung (which has a secret garden)! Also disclaimer: I think that the secret garden would be less fancy without the Autumn/Spring colours so if you are visiting in Summer/Winter, it'd probably just look dull.

Autumn colours are so short-lived yet appealing. I took for granted that the vibrant colours would stay for the entire season so I was basically just bumming the entire season away at home but it rained so much that the leaves were collected on the ground instead. Red maple leaves, I'd definitely see you again.

On H i a t u s & Now B a c k!

Hello!

I'd been away from this space for a long time now and I think that it is time to do what I love to, sharing pictures from my camera roll & experiences from wherever I left my footprints at. Blogging, again!

Why I left this space quiet? Distraction.
So I don't think I mentioned this online before but my first ever smartphone was an Iphone 3G then to a 4G, but it had always been a constant struggle with the whole Itunes syncing function which I eventually gave up on when my macbook died on me. I hated it. Joined the Samsung family and I never looked back. For about 5 years, I never had issues with a Samsung phone. It takes me 5 seconds to get a new song into my phone and I do not really need that many functions that a smartphone has to offer so I was contented. This year, the husband decided to buy me an Iphone. I'd been constantly yakking at how complicated Iphone functions are but I didn't realise that it has been simplified now. Completely a tech retard, I know. So, regarding why I left this space empty is because I'd been hooked onto the convenience of an Iphone. Iphones are amazing! I used to go back home to my macbook everyday but now, my macbook has been collecting dust in a corner of my room. Laptop neglected = no updates on the blog. Why haven't I realised it earlier?

Personal life.
I never really like talking about my personal life online only because I can't control tongues from wagging but I can control the information you obtain of me online. It may just be the nature of a Scorpio. I am also a very prideful person so I tend to keep all my emotions to myself (except anger, haha!) which is why I'm always seen as a happy person on the outside. Here comes the longwinded story of probably a tinge of personal feelings.

So in 2015, I dropped all I had in Singapore and left to live in Korea for a short 5 months. I'd say it was the best decision I ever made for myself. It might not be anything fancy for certain people but for me, it was a whole new level of surreal. Everything was planned in my head:  save money - quit the job I love - live in Korea - come back to Singapore - find a job within a month - save up for the new house. I'm pretty good at planning ahead so everything went the way it was played in my head. My air bubble burst when I did not find an ideal job in a month's time. I might have set the bars too high for myself but I just felt really terrible about bumming at home. It was also 5 years since I applied for jobs + going for interviews so I honestly didn't thought the job search would have took so long. I had a long enough break and I needed to make myself useful again. Waking up everyday with nothing to do was driving me crazy. My MIL was so patient, she did not utter a word even when I took so long but that was also one of the reasons why the guilt was overwhelming. I was the wild daughter in law who moved to Korea 3 weeks into marriage and came back to Singapore rotting away at home. I was assured that it was okay to take my time but it came to a point where I lost drive in doing anything. And you know people around me whom acted like they "genuinely" cared for me started bitching about my qualifications and self righteously think that the reason why I couldn't find a job was because I was uneducated. To whoever that falls into that category (and reading this), I'm telling you that I can take up any job I want to and would still be useful in the society & my family. I don't see how uneducated I am when the "educated" people does nothing but talk about me in an uneducated manner.

So after 3 months since February, the job hunt is over. I am well accepted into my new company & I absolutely love my current job. I was quite rigid in my job hunt previously and only cherry picked job vacancies that were close to my previous job industry. I'm in a brand new industry right now, working with the best team of people ever. Thankful that life got back on track, thankful that I found joy in working again. (P.S Thank you to real friends whom were there for me even without knowing why I was upset and missing all the time. Adeline Tan, thank you!) With that, imma go make new plans in my head now and await for the next big phase that would most probably be happening this year, the keys to our new house!

So here it is, me ranting personal once in a blue moon. If that bored the people whom are more interested in my travelogues, will be back on that soon!

 :)

#mykoreadiary || Turning 24

Coincidentally or not, my midterm exams started 3 days before my birthday and ended on my birthday. It was a stressful week before we finished our last paper and called for a celebration! I count my blessings everyday for meeting the people of class 1-2, they were the best bunch of classmates and will always be my favourite memory in Korea. Thank you for the cake & birthday lunch! xo

The sisters arrived Seoul on my birthday and made it in time for my birthday dinner!

And I got a surprise party waiting for me at home! Birthday decorations were done up by the husband while I was away at school. I have a habit of showering immediately after reaching home and it was then when they were preparing the cake. And that was how I welcomed by birthday surprise with a bare face and PJs.

Celebrating 24 is never about making girly wishes on this yearly affair anymore. Blessed enough to be married before 24, blessed enough to be given a chance to drop everything in Singapore and realize my dream of "living" in Korea. This birthday has a brand new set of wishes - for both my families, the one I love, and the future that'd be in my control.
